These terms apply to your use of socialgraph.dev, its website and its APIs (the "Service"), operated by socialgraph.dev ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to them.
1. Your account
- You must give accurate information and be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
- You're responsible for everything done with your account and API keys. Keep keys secret, and revoke any key you think has been exposed.
- One person or organisation may hold one account unless we agree otherwise. Creating accounts to collect free credits repeatedly isn't allowed.
2. Credits and payment
- The Service is paid for with prepaid credits. Each successful API call uses the number of credits shown for that endpoint at the time of the call. Calls that return an error are not charged.
- Credits don't expire, have no cash value, can't be transferred to another account, and can only be used on the Service.
- Free credits (for example, welcome credits) are a promotional benefit and may be changed or withdrawn.
- Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record and may apply taxes and currency conversion. Prices are set in US dollars.
- We may change prices or credit costs for future purchases and calls. Credits you already hold stay in your account.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
3. Acceptable use
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- use data obtained through the Service to harass, stalk, discriminate against, or harm any person;
- use the Service in breach of data protection or privacy laws that apply to you (such as the GDPR), including by processing personal data without a lawful basis;
- submit images to the age & gender API unless you have the right to process them, and any consent or legal basis the law requires for estimating age or gender from a person's image;
- attempt to access private or non-public content, bypass security or limits, probe or attack the Service, or interfere with other customers;
- resell or provide raw access to the Service as a competing API without our written permission.
You're responsible for how you use the data you receive, including compliance with the laws and platform terms that apply to your use case.
4. Data and third-party platforms
- The Service returns publicly available information from third-party platforms such as Instagram and YouTube. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by those platforms, and their names are trademarks of their owners.
- Data comes from those platforms "as is". We don't guarantee it's complete, accurate or always available, and platforms can change or restrict access at any time.
- Age and gender results are automated estimates and may be wrong. Don't use them as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on a person.
5. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but don't guarantee uninterrupted operation. We may add, change or retire endpoints; we'll try to give notice of changes that break existing integrations.
6. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, create risk for us or others, or are involved in fraud or abuse. Where an account is closed for a breach, unused credits may be forfeited.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its software and documentation belong to us. You keep the rights to your own data. You may use our documentation and code samples to integrate with the Service.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, and our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, notify you by email or on the site. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
